Meet Mr. Ketan Srisai, Co-founder & COO at JSS. (Part — 2)

Let’s continue to get acquainted! We spent some time with our Chief Operating Officer Mr. Ketan Srisai understanding his journey and here is what he has to say,

What is the key of JSS success?

We as team are inspired and we follow Apple Inc, as most of our co founders are already shared with you all. We have been following Apple design standards, we maintain that quality in every aspect of our development, cloud security, design implementation, and all those aspects, even in terms of our training services, client servicing, tech support, we maintain a quality. Development alone doesn’t make you successful tech company, what we feel is implementation is a key.

I can give you an example because in my journey, I have travelled 17 mandals while implementing Rythu Yantra where I got a chance to converse with a lot of farmers and despite having an elementary knowledge of tech, they are ready to use apps because they understand that is going to make their lives easier.

But the implementation is the key. To tell the farmer how to use it and make them understand the features and also the awareness about the platform. we did a lot from our part in terms of it, later we got around 15,000 farmers registered in our platform and started booking a agri-services. So this has to be done on a huge scale. So that is our vision.

Swatch Khammam an another example, it is a next generation complaint redressal mobile and web platform. It is a quantum leap in how complaints and grievances are being redressed by Municipal Corporation in Khammam. This solution is for all the 50 wards in Khammam Municipal Corporation. The core of the Swachhata application is to use citizen participation and civic engagement to help resolve the specific sanitary division complaints at the earliest with the help of Sanitary Department officials.

The big problems where people don’t try to overlook it, we find it challenging and if technology can be applied with the real time data, you can do better things in our society, So that is our vision. Apart from the services, one channel will always be there, we’ll be working with public sector to build quality impact. That’s how we started, we wanted to build products, which can make an impact in the society.

But now, if we can do something by utilizing the course of digital transformation. We can make education, healthcare, agriculture, accessible for everyone, and can make it easy to find.

I would say, quality is one factor. The second factor would be understanding the requirement, not only understanding, it’s more of consulting and giving the clients a right direction to build the product. The third would be building upon the feedback, like staying as a technological partner, right from your MVP, to becoming an unicorn, from nurturing them to giving them a complete end to end service. That is what differentiate Janaspandana from other companies in the market.

Changes are constant, one should continuously incorporate changes to evolve as a successful business irrespective of the domains but it is difficult, it is not easy all the time. what is your take on this?

Changes what we have seen in this firm, is basically due to the situation we faced, there were situations where it demanded us to adapt to a change, or else it would have made our situation difficult. So that’s how in any entrepreneurial journey, when they face challenging situations, that will lead them to take those decisions. So changes are one important thing, but there should be adequate amount of data because I’m being a marketing I do math all the time and I believe more in data.

For every business, even if it’s just a normal retail shop, if there is a necessity for a change, there should be adequate amount of data. In JSS, that is how we do it, we follow a strict policy of understanding the cost benefit analysis for each and every project, we ask ourselves this one question every time before we implement our decisions, are we doing the right way? if there is an issue, obviously we need to change something in our process, because we cannot go with the same process and think that we are facing It, there should be usage of that data which enables us to implement changes that are required. Every quarter, we had few changes in terms of marketing and getting the client on board.

As you rightly asked, the business should constantly incorporate changes,
I would say a healthy business will always incorporate changes, because they will have the right amount of data and the right amount of business analysis going on. If we look at major companies like PepsiCo or Coca Cola, they are bringing a lot of changes in the organisational structure or national behaviour plan, how the pricing is done, because it all runs on analysing your data.

Have you developed any solutions for any of your realtime problems?

As I mentioned, we need to build products out of our own problems. This year, the world has gone through a tremendous change, we have hit the pause button, due to the pandemic situation and there was tremendous changes in each and every business sector. So technology has played as part of daily lives, brought everything to our doors, without even stepping out.

Though we have faced this one issue, as one of our co founder was getting married. The major problem was lot of our friends and family members are struck in their homes at the same time they should be part of this occasion, we have seen this problem, me and my whole team sat together, we thought of a solution where we can livestream the wedding. We built our own platform called UTSAVA.Live

Janaspandana have transformed the complete physical experience into a digital experience, we have implemented it successfully and a crowd of 1200 people enjoyed the wedding. And we got tremendous response from them. while watching the wedding, they also had the chat option where they can chat with the fellow attendees. Even we gave them an experience in such a way that the bride and groom will also know who have attended the wedding. So this is something we solved it very easily.

But as we have seen, it’s not only our problem, it’s been a problem for a lot of people where they stay in US or UK and they might not attend an event in India. So this can be a personalised live experience platform. Now, this is a time for all the young generation people to understand what are the problems you’re facing? And how can we solve them, so that if the problem is bigger, we are making our business even more bigger. So that’s one product we have built out of our own problems.

What is your pitch?

My pitch is very simple come join us, let’s build amazing products together. Product development is always something which is related to everyone, if there is a new idea, everyone should give their views and insights on how to make the product better out of it, It is always a collaborative effort. And that’s what I feel amazing working with the clients as well, where they look at their product idea being nurtured into a product.

I would say there are a lot of people who can build their ideas into products. You might be any kind of a business coming from any sector, the main problem we are facing is not having a right solution for our problems. So if there can be a right technical partner, where they can work with you understand your process, understand your stakeholders, build a solution, which creates an impact in your business, increase your efficiency, give you customers, if you’re already have customers then increase your revenue.
